The 100% natural dental care for cats made from Matatabi wood. This toy has been loved by cats in Asia for centuries. Matatabi sticks contain essential oils whose fragrances can trigger euphoric reactions in cats. Chewing with pleasure reduces tartar and prevents bad breath.

Characteristics:

• Natural, untreated matatabi wood (Actinidia polygama), also known as Japanese ray pencil or Japanese catnip
• Considered the strongest and most effective of all cat herbs. Even cats that ignore catnip will usually not be able to resist matatabi.

Effects:

• Similar to catnip, Matatabi triggers a comfort response typical of cats (so-called catnip response). 
• Typical behaviors are licking, salivating, rubbing and rolling as well as increased playfulness.
• It is harmless if the cat swallows small amounts of matatabi while chewing. In large quantities, however, it can cause temporary discomfort with vomiting or diarrhea.
• Due to the euphoric reactions, cats should not be left unsupervised to play with Matatabi sticks and the duration of the game should be limited.

Storage:

• We recommend keeping the Matatabi sticks in the resealable packaging after playing and storing them in a dry place.
